So Tuesday and Wednesday we visited two New Tech schools that were in their first year of running at our district. After New Braunfels, we felt that we needed to see schools in action that were similar to our students. The first school we toured was not very beneficial since the students were still at a higher level than the students we teach but we had a few take aways, like Zombie theme lessons during Halloween across the classes and earned passports every nine weeks for students that show trust, respect, and responsibilities. It was at our second school visit we were able to take away so much since the students there were very similar to ours. We were able to see that this program does work, despite the type of students you have. They only thing is now we are the first New Tech (that we know of) that will have coteaching for a regular Algebra and Geometry course so it'll be interesting to be pioneers on this!
